Operating Systems: W95,W98,ME,NT,W2K,XP
Issue:
How do I set default options for all users on a multi-user machine?
Resolution:
For ScenePD:
Set the permissions (see instructions below) on c:\windows\spdXde.ini so all users have Read and Write access.
Note: the X in "spdXde.ini" represents the version number of ScenePD. For example, the file for ScenePD version 4 would be "spd4de.ini". To determine the version number choose the Help->About menu item from within ScenePD.
For Easy Street Draw:
Set the permissions (see instructions below) on c:\windows\esdXde.ini so all users have Read and Write access.
Note: the X in "esdXde.ini" represents the version number of Easy Street Draw. For example, the file for Easy Street Draw version 4 would be "esd4de.ini". To determine the version number choose the Help->About menu item from within Easy Street Draw.
To change permissions on the file:
- Log in as Administrator.
- Use Windows Explorer to navigate to the C:\Windows folder.
- Right click the .ini file referenced above for your version.
- Select "Properties".
- Click the Security tab.
- Modify the Permissions check boxes to grant Read and Write access to the relevant users.
