Boise Company partners with Kansas State Fire Marshall to pilot Signature Scene for fire investigato
Trancite Logic Systems kicked off another pilot program in an effort to assist “first responders” in the field. On June 18th, the Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office placed their order for 13 licenses of Signature Scene. Trancite was able to aide Deputy State Fire Marshall Wally Roberts and his fire investigators and to show just how fantastic Signature Scene is for those in the field tasked with the difficult job of collecting data while performing their other duties.
Signature Scene is a complete field reporting software tool which allows for quick and efficient documentation of criminal acts, accident scenes, inspections, and site surveys. The Signature Scene mission is to provide next generation reporting for any user and enhance documentation and storyboarding of any incident.
It has quick and efficient form data collection capabilities that allow the user to construct a casebook with forms and logos specific to the agency or mission. The forms are created to ensure quick and easy data collection and meet or exceed the business rules of the contracting agency.
The same diagramming engine used by law enforcement around the world is part the powerful Signature Scene engine and allows the user to Drag and drop pre-drawn “intelligent” symbols from a huge symbols library onto the electronic diagram or baseline satellite imagery. Trancite’s development team goes to great lengths to ensure symbols remain to scale, no matter the diagram.
Signature Scene also allows for digital evidence management with an intuitive attachment function to import evidence, like digital photographs or audio clips to a casebook. Those photos can then be linked to the diagram and positioned to demonstrate the viewpoint of the photographer.
Trancite’s powerful software also allows for GPS stamping so a user can assign an accurate latitude and longitude or MGRS location to an individual incident report and then fly to the incident, snap an overhead picture and import that scaled image into the diagram.
All these capabilities, including Signature Scene's ability to export the entire report to XML, PDF or PowerPoint are what drew the Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office to the software.
In the coming weeks, Investigator Roberts will be sharing details of his experiences and practical applications of Signature Scene as a complete reporting tool for his department as well as cases involving him as an Explosive Detection Canine Handler.
